It’s mid-afternoon and you really need a snack. You walk into a room and see a piece of your favorite kind of fresh fruit next to one of your favorite kinds of candy bar. What do you do?

That was part of my awakening phase. I left sugar, alcohol, etc. Now, I've been back to half a dozen cups of sugared coffee, and still on tobacco. Don't drink much anymore though. Back during awakening I was sleeping three hours a night for months, lately I've lost so much life force that I've been sleeping a dozen hours and can't account for where my time went. I've been gobbling supplements and doing whatever trick I can think of. I look for clues like increased cigarette consumption or something to account for the time. I suspect SC gets a lot of it. My computer mimics my state; lately, though I did a major cleaning, there is constant drive activity yet I often have to wait 15 seconds between each word I type. This recent phase of life is the hardest yet, it revolves around departure, though I have no desire or intention to do so. I'm not talking in a physical sense. I had a phase years ago involving several realms of suicide that I do not wish to repeat though it was educational. Something like the ending of Brasil, I haven't a clue. I don't know where to go from here. I'm trying to develop my astral flight skills just in case.

I feel fabulous. I am wide awake early early morn...energy all day...eating balanced meals...drinking tons of H2O ..lots of fruit and vegetables, whole foods. No coffee or soda, no booze or refined sugar for me ever again. No need anymore. I am deliriously happy, high on life and boundless..Maybe you need to detox...flush all that crap outta your delicate system, and be a temple again (((hug)))
K to Twisty - 12/11/00 5:41 PM
I visited a couple dozen temples last night. Then I went into a meditation in which I was made of gold and full of electricity with a goal of totally merging with the absolute. I was quite nervous about it. I seemed to be sucking up energy from everything in my presence. It reminded me of being a pharoah in a pyramid that takes geo-energy and converts it to targeted auroral energy. I had three reservations: holding that power, taking it from my surroundings, and hoping I had the wisdom to utilise it right. This happened simply because I was prepared to leave and sought absolute wisdom. I was reviewing so many things I might be able to do after transformation and realised I'd done most of them. I'd like to think of myself as protectorate, not taking down the final curtain. I pace a lot these days as the radio is a constant discussion about this departure. My first rebirth was like yours, transcending a limited understanding some of which was a loss for awhile, I have a feeling this 2nd rebirth transcends physical reality almost entirely. In a sense I feel I have become this multi-planed world, and it's a pretty intense prospect to shed it.
Do you believe Mars should be terraformed?
TheBlackAdder replies to kaleb777
I hardly think so....Whether something seems worthy to die has nothing to do with the complexity of the life form. The value of the life form is measured purely by how much of a pest it is or how much it can help. Eyes, though they are made of tissues and are an organ, are still made up of cells that are of EQUAL complexity compared to fish, insects, lizards, and plants. In the big picture, the truth is that all life needs to be respected and managed. If there were life forms more complex than others, as you would like to think, then you ought to be the slave of the more intelligent and stronger humans, and furthermore, your would need to earn the privilege to live from the more complex and superior. Is that the way you think things should be?
kaleb777 replies to TheBlackAdder
Are you telling me that a single celled amoeba is as complex as a human? I don't think so. I think there are species that survive by using other species. Do you think it is wrong that the "more intelligent and stronger" cheetah kills weaker and obviously more stupid animals in order to survive? Of course it isn't. Humans are just animals who are trying to survive like everything else. We are physical beings. We need food, energy and resources for shelter etc. If other species are used in the process then that's too bad. We aren't doing anything less instinctual or necessary for our survival than the cheetah or any other predator.
Kristal_Rose replies to kaleb777
Have you heard of vegetarians? There are people like me who try not to use insecticides or antibiotics. I went briefly through a phase where I accepted that if there were dark enemy spirit forces, there could also be undesirable physical creatures, so I decided to kill my roaches. Every night of my battle got worse till I was killing a hundred or two a night with water bottles and swatters and such. When I gave up the battle they immediately stopped showing up. I think what really triggered the thought that they were unfriendly forces was the time I was on the phone telling a friend that I was trying not to let them bother me to the point of killing them, when just then two of them started advancing up the phone cord towards me. Mocking my benevolence was just too much.
kaleb777 replies to Kristal_Rose
Humans are predators. We have binocular vision which only develops in hunters. Our teeth are those of an omnivore. Our physiology is geared towards eating both meat and vegetable matter. Vegetarians are only able to be vegetarians because we live in a society that has become rich enough through using all of Earths resources (including animals)and there are now available dietary suplements and enough variation in vegetable matter available to come close to what humans need in the way of nutrients. There are some people who are more extreme than you. Some people will not eat carrots, potatoes etc because the entire plant has to be killed in order for that vegetable to be harvested. I regard these people as mentally ill. They are damaging their bodies through poor nutrition just as an alcoholic does. Most hard core vegetarians I meet are sickly, always tired and cranky. These are signs that their body needs the easily absorbed vitamins and minerals that meat provides. Greenies are always saying that we have moved too far from living naturally, yet these people are those who are predominantly adhering to an unnatural and dangerous diet lacking in essential nutrients. I'm not saying we should eat meat every day, but we do need meat.
I don't use antibiotics either, but your immune system kills invading microbes by the million. I hope you don't consider these organisms as important as more complex life forms because I don't know how you could live with the guilt.
Kristal_Rose replies to kaleb777 - 12/10/00 4:47 PM
Perhaps we were predestined to be sculptors. The list of vegetarian critters with binocular vision must be immense. Our vision capabilities far exceed that necessary for hunting, for instance we can focus the cornea close while focusing the parallax distant to view viewmasters and other 3D media. We can consciously selectively tune in & out portions of our independent images prior to synthesis {I was going to write an article on this for Scientific American when I was 24}. Consider the eyes of a fly; A missile can maintain horizon with four light sensors directly proportional to fin control. The flight algorithm of a fly could easily be like a binary maze running through each pixel/lense and the eyes essentially are their solid state flight computer. Put an advanced brain behind two separate 180 fields on a creature with good neck feedback or inner ear that moves it's head around a lot, and parallax can be interpolated. It would be a trade off of depth instantaneity for field instantaneity, more suited for creatures in defense mode than predator mode. Look at how often a horse shakes it head. They don't match the dolphin, which has sight and sonar. If the chirps they create can simulate the acoustic holography they take in, they could communicate terrain maps to each other. Add another level of processing and our lost atlanteans are capable of communicating virtual sculpture work. Humans are equipped with a cute little feature called transcendence.
kaleb777 replies to Kristal_Rose - 12/10/00 4:48 PM
Ah....where do you get the information on dolphin communication and our lost atlanteans? I am interested in facts not guesses or mythology.
Kristal_Rose replies to kaleb777- 12/10/00 4:48 PM
It's all speculation except repeated reports on basic acoustic holography reception is dolphins and my own experiments in human stereo dominance vision.
Try this experiment: [you will require two pairs of polarized stereo glasses]
1) Wear one pair and set the other pair on a white, well-lit table so that both lenses are in view of both eyes.
2) Look through your left eye only (cover your right eye). One lense on the table should appear dark and the other transparent {if the glasses face you and the left-intended lense is dark, you are using circular polarizers; if the right-intended lense is dark you are using linear polarizers}. Label the dark lense on the table X, Label the other Y.
3) Look through your right eye only.. Lens Y should now appear dark and X should be clear if your equipment is correct.
4) Relax, open both eyes and look at the glasses. Initially and eventually you should settle on one lense as dark and the other as clear. This is called stereo dominance. Most people have it. If lens X is the one that appears dark, your left eye has stereo dominance meaning the left image is used to settle tie-breakers during competitive imagery for arriving at a single stereo composite.
5) If (like me) you do not have stereo dominance, then both lenses will appear gray or strobing. {According to an optometrist I discussed this whole experiment with a few months ago, who had dedicated his life to step 4, (fortunately he had widened the concern to include postural problems and such) this is rare.
6) If you concentrate, you may be able to choose (as I can) which lense is to be perceived as dark, and which is to be perceived as clear. I call this 'discretionary stereo dominance'.
7) {this is the exciting part} You may be able to choose both lenses as dark, or both lense as clear at any moment. I call this discretionary stereo composition.
It is not known, to my knowledge, if both eyes form our composite view (as I suspect) or if only one provides a visual source and the other is utilized only as a cross-reference for calculating depth data. Step 7 and common sense seems to imply the former. Dominance (step 4) suggests that A) If it is a cross-reference system, people tend to have one eye or the other serve as the visual source. People like me are choosing which eye becomes the visual source and which eye fills the cross-reference buffer. If B) It is a composite system of image generation, then the implications of both discretionary stereo dominance and discretionary stereo composition are that while one eye is using all of it's field with the exception of one area, the other eye, by volition is utilizing it's entire field except for another arbitrary region.
To speak by example, in the instance where both lenses are seen simultaneously as clear, what I believe is happening is that your left eye is employing all of its contents, especially it's view of lens Y, with the exception of it's view of lens X (which would have appeared dark if incorporated into the composite). Meanwhile the right eye is utilizing all of its view with the exception of the lens Y region. To choose then to see both lenses as dark means that the left eye blocks out region Y instead and the right eye blocks out region X instead.
Did you know that if you wear red/green lenses or work in colored light your eyesight will make the independent shifts for each eye, and leaving that environment will require readjustment? The most extreme example was one in which a subject was fitted with goggles that flipped everything upside down. In two weeks time that was perceived as normal and removal of the goggles was perceived as viewing upside down during the readjustment period.
I really wish I had facts for you on atlanteans. Once in a while you hear rumors of dolphins having annual conferences out at some archipelago with attendance in the millions. If dolphins do indeed communicate sculptural works, I would consider them in this age of global environment mis-management, to have life-forms to suit a superior resource management policy as well as having better structured quality time. When's the last time you've seen a dolphin finishing a financial report at am Monday morning. No, you see them composing water ballets in the wild. You don't see them contributing to global warming, over population, or using gulf-stream mesh to catch pre-reproductive fish when the yields have diminished over the years. Dolphins are not a suicidal race.

Mythology has it that Thor became Freya
Freyja replies to Kristal_Rose
Didn't Thor only disguise himself as Freya in order to get his Hammer back when it was stolen?
Kristal_Rose - 1/3/01 8:25 PM
Well I knew you knew better. I'm in too much back pain to write books lately and am busy seeking surgery and writing urban renewal proposals. The most popular accounts are that he became such by disguising himself as such. Such is the luxury of these gods to take on and swap forms. In todays language that is 'people are books to read' or as I am accused of frequently 'you will be assimilated'. As time goes on I find we increasingly have the capacity to consume mass quantities by osmosis, meaning flipping through a book, meeting a person, visiting somewhere, or handling a relic is enough to awaken or download ones genetic memories of a way of thinking like creating guitar music or seeing life as chemistry. Mindframes are my favorite costume changes. I imagine you know a lot more about mythology. I'd liken Thor to Andarahanari. The Thor/Freya model works good as a gender simile for lightening and auroras or father spirit and mother creation. It also bears a similarity to Odysseus coming back to Penelope.
How would you rate the job being done by NASA -- the U.S. space agency?
K - 1/3/01 9:02 PM
There are at least two levels of media coverage. On TV they say things like 'were boiling rocks to test for water' when telescope spectrometers verified water half a century ago; or they say that we lost that probe due to english-metric issues when at their jpl site you'll find that they simulate cosmological gamma ray bursts on a solar system scale to study the contraction of time. I have an original 1963 Mariner handbook which has data on things like solar flux velocities (I deduced these were captured by particle counts or voltage in a timed shutter box). If you go to their jpl site you'll find they head all the major agricultural research labs where they breed things like gold based plant life with it's own microgravity. They also post calculations on nano-propogation for terra-forming by asteroid. I love there ingenuity. For instance when one of those probes (mariner?) surprisingly was found living later to swing by jupiter they radioed the outdated probe new programming so that the tape reels could be used as gyro-stabilisers to get more accurate photo targeting.
Information Warfare
This week, U.S. Security officials warned about potential "electronic assaults" on U.S. computer networks by hostile governments, criminal cartels and other technologically advanced guerrilla groups. How big of a threat do you think this "information warfare" is to the world at large?
K - 1/3/01 9:38 PM
Immense. It's the equivalent of bombing power plants now that all majr corporations can be shut off with a switch, so to say. I wouldn't mind if we undid the computer revolution, but I know a lot of people would be unhappy. The thing to do now is to keep it working for positive change.
K 1/3/01 9:39 PM
The targets would be Morgan, AT&T, Time-Warner, Montsanto.. These are becoming the world governments. The US is now more like a corporation who's product is arms and intelligence. Those interested in taking on the big boys would probably not be interested in disabling welfare or consumer logistics. No one in their right mind would take over a country that already has to import material resources. It made sense for Japan half a century ago, but wouldn't now. Power was once about land and livestock, then jewels and minerals, now, like 1984, attention and control is the last frontier of the power hungry. A king is responsible for keeping his kingdom prosperous. There are those who would cause genocide or capitalise on (enslave) one culture over another, but otherwise there is no power advantage in taking over the entire world unless your motivation is to make it work better. Would you want to become king of Harlem or Mexico? Of course not. Winning would be your burden.
When going out socially with friends or family, have you ever played the role of designated driver?
Kristal_Rose
A Rumanian dog admired me putting wintergreen on my derriere from my porch so I showed him wood carved litlle red riding hood in a viewmaster surround then played carmen, did ballet, bicycled to a shop full of cigar indians. His different story was worth looking sleazy in silk and crystal for. I talked him out of lighting substance and made him a 12 strength coffee mix with a sultry biting port, shamrock sugar patties and almondroca syrup that him looping. So sweetheart, what's happening. Are you holding the wonder together with that kid and your man. Do the three of you still river picnic together? I feel like I've drifted away from many folk here. It's been a lot to plot my upcoming social services from this encapsulated observatory while rising from bed requires consciousness to maintain skeleton and faith in a better hour is all I have. Please, keep it good.

K to Twisty - 1/6/01 12:48 PM
I got a Boop doll for christmas via mom and one of the women daughters at the vacation dinner parties. She was going to explain it, never did, I think.. she became a Betty magnet because her name is Paige and she looks like Betty Paige in her leathar outfit. I wanted a wife for christmas, and the joke returned was 'I got you betty'.
I'm thankful for that dog. It made me appreciate those who seethe in a catholic guilt love hatred. I also had spontaneous use of baby powder, affinity to roses, and expanded my collection of russian opera vinyl at the goodwill today. He had psych college, on top of being awake so we played all sorts of head games of elevator consciousness. He introduced me to light speed gypsy travel and I introduced him to all sorts of gear, planet, dna, cyclotron, mind types of 'churning'. & how Disney introduced blue & white air spirit to engineering. whatever. He showed me a lot about myself; my mirrored home, I forget.. But having me do ballet and cycling with this bad back feels like what I needed. He had an invisible quality. I did feel him looking and at that moment a gremlin was breaking into Voyager. I guess I was bored; invite an unknown predator in to fend off while partially parylyzed, why not. We played with polytheism, like god forgot, but designed particle energy to always keep busy so within eternity memory would return. It was a stretch for me, considering it all seems to work for me.
So I think about you all the time too. Did you get my email? I was hoping to call in my news year blessing. I'm glad you responded on heartfelt cue here. Type can feel so distant.
Should economically challenged people be given a scholarship to help their children finish High School?
What is your assurance that the world operates on a logical basis? Sure it sounds good in theory.
Consider this, that 1% chance happens to both of them. Tom loses both his houses and joe certainly loses his one house. Tom starves in the desert while joe is given plenty of gifts & loans & places to stay from all those people he recreated with. There's a .02% of even holding on to a house for 80 years. I say instead of every fool wasting resources on an unused spare private house, we pool our resources together and for every 10 people build a spare house to keep up with the average loss. Whoever loses their house gets the spare, and all 10 pitch in for another spare. No man is an island. The world is meant to support you and you are meant to support the world. If you make the world your enemy you will have quite a battle ahead. BTW thanks for the volunteer work. I take it you make exceptions for neighbors victim to acts of god to which 'the right choices' weren't an issue. You show integrity, just keep in mind other systems have equal logic and integrity even if the logic is of a sort that has to be felt, not thought. I fear you see things with blinders; other value implementations do not share abide by your logic, and therefore lack any sense or promise. Try to understand opposing viewpoints with an inside feel. At worst you will be able to explain in other terms why your philosophy is best, at best, you insure yourself from a crash from having kept so much out. Martyrs of Reason have only themself to recieve comfort from. Your outlook of machiavellian tactical triumph will win you the love of others in the same manner as murderers gain respect. When others say you are young, that is because there are plenty of people who have blossomed after being defeated by the gauntlet you have created for yourself. Your adamant adrenalin victory rush will be your drive for many years to come and is your ally. I suggest though that you bend it to victories of support and understanding. Love, not righteousness will be your reward. A nice house, even giving the rest to a charitable foundation will ultimately be an empty victory if your motive is defense of your philosophy. You already sense alienation. The smart thing to do would be to 'make the right decision' about exploring your options of consciousness, not necessarily to pour your genius into making workable your current path. The people I meet who put off romance till they can afford it are usually bitterly trying to push their philosphy on others, often by a demonstration of pride.
Buy two houses. Plan to give one to a neighbor. If you lose both, you won't feel like a loser hypocrite when Joe offers you his spare bedroom. If no one loses a home you can sell it when you get old and throw some great parties with the neighbors. It's life to not have the answers. If you were omniscient, there wouldn't be much point in continuing on here. I teach, and I learn, just as one can not give without being thankful to recieve as well. If you are an island at war with the world you will either win or lose, neither of which are rewarding. I think if you look back at what felt best, though the lustful victories were tasty, the best was always about an 'us', even if that was nature.
What percentage of people do you believe are less intelligent than you?Biggles286
According to exam results, over 95%. But people are intelligent in different
ways and at different things.
I'm good at the academic stuff but I'm not nearly as streetwise as a lot
of other people. That *is* a form
of intelligence too. The problem is that there are so many kinds of intelligence,
but academic
intelligence is the only one that people spend time gauging, even though
it's certainly not more
important than other kinds. I hate it when people put a lot of emphasis on academic intelligence. It
means very little compared to the sort of intelligence that makes people warm, kind, good or wise.
Kristal_Rose replies to Biggles286
I almost think that's by grand design. The intelligent must think for
themself to create the anti-thesis by lone nerd-like contemplation and
introspection while observing from the fringe of society; hopefully, like
us, they realise they missed so many things like street smarts and comeraderie
that they form the synthesis.
